Alpha / Beta notes and terms
KALYIX begins as a one-person indie project. That’s the charm — but it also means things can break, change, or ship later than expected. These notes apply to all alpha, beta, and other preview versions (website, dashboard, client, overlays, plugins, mockups).
1. Not a finished product, no guarantee
Alpha and beta builds of KALYIX are not finished software. They exist to try features, gather feedback, and test concepts. They are not meant for critical or business-critical productions (e.g. big events, client projects with SLAs).
There is no promise that specific features will be available on a date, stay forever, or be implemented exactly as shown in mockups, screenshots, or roadmaps.
2. Changes, experiments, and breakage
During alpha/beta, APIs, file formats, storage structures, plugin interfaces, UI flows, and naming can change. Some things are added, others removed or rebuilt. Stability and a clear core take priority over every single feature idea.
The published roadmap is guidance, not a contract. Feedback, technical needs, or time constraints can shift, cut, or reprioritize features.
3. Availability, maintenance, and service changes
There is no claim to constant availability, specific servers, or on-demand preview builds. KALYIX may take servers offline for maintenance/updates, disable features, or limit access — sometimes at short notice and without prior announcement.
4. Liability limitation for alpha/beta
For damages from using alpha/beta/preview builds (e.g. stream crashes, broken overlays, wrong/late data, loss of local configs), no liability is assumed where legally permissible. Use at your own risk.
This does not affect claims in cases of intent/gross negligence or mandatory legal liability (e.g. product liability) where applicable.
5. Prerequisites and third parties
Some functions rely on third parties (e.g. Twitch for login/events/chat/metadata). Their terms and privacy policies apply. Changes or limits by third parties may mean parts of KALYIX stop working or are limited, without creating claims against KALYIX.
6. User responsibility
You are responsible for how you use KALYIX in your setup, making backups of important configs, and not treating preview builds as guaranteed production foundations. If you link Twitch or similar, you must follow their terms.
7. Intellectual property and usage rights
Code, branding, logos, UI designs, and mockups are protected. Alpha/beta access grants a simple, non-transferable, revocable license to test within the intended scope. No right to resell, rebrand, or claim IP. Your own content remains yours.
8. Feedback and community ideas
Feedback is welcome, but there is no claim to implementation. Suggestions may be used, evolved, and integrated into the product without any claim to payment, attribution, or co-authorship.
9. Ending participation
You can stop using KALYIX anytime, delete your account, and remove local data. KALYIX can end the alpha/beta phase or individual access, e.g. when moving phases, for technical/legal reasons, or in cases of abuse/violations.
10. Governing law
Unless mandatory rules say otherwise, the law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies.
